My native town is Mukerian, Distt Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India.
However, I was born and raised at Chandigarh, Union Territory, India. My
father retired as a senior Punjab Government officer and my mother was
stay home mum.
Your Early Education
I completed Masters in Public Administration and Bachelors of Law from
Panjab University, Chandigarh.
When & Why You came to Canada
I immigrated in February 2018 to avail a better quality of life. In India, I
was a practising lawyer for 20 years in Punjab & Haryana High Court,
Chandigarh. However, always yearned to enjoy freedom, security and
vibrant life.
Your career advancement initiatives, volunteer work and present
occupation

I completed my NCA assessment (National Committee of Accreditation) to
be eligible for Bar exams in Canada. I passed my Bar exams after the
unfortunate demise of my husband in January 2020. Also got an
opportunity to obtain the Diploma of Immigration consultant from CDI
College Calgary North Campus (Online during Pandemic) that too while
preparing for my Bar Exams at the same time. Presently, I am a Barrister
and Solicitor in the Province of British Columbia. I have been strong
crusader for women empowerment in India as well as here.

Canada practise multiculturalism. Of course, western society has all kinds
of allurement. It is on us to choose the earnest path.
Any Comments on Canada’s Weather
BC is true to it’s signature statement” is Beautiful British Columbia”. We
enjoy sometimes enjoy four weathers in a single day. Summers with
flowers all around provide the festive mood. Yes, incessant rains are very
depressing and one has to acclimatize.
What Brought You Success in Canada?
Hard work. Patience, commitment. Of course the commendable support of
my mentors and my study buddies who turned out to be my best friends.
Are You Willing to Help New Immigrants and How?
Yes, as an Immigration Consultant and a Lawyer, I am committed to
ethical practices and to work around our folk’s requirements to provide cost
effective solutions.
Your Message for Canadians of Asian Origin
We come from all walks of life to create future four ourselves and our
wards. Therefore, we must support each other to the best of our abilities.
Pie is big for professionals who have high degree of integrity. Compassion
and humbleness are the great traits which most of the Canadians exercise
on day to day basis. We should also commit to those. Always give back to
society. All genders enjoy level play ground to excel in their respective
fields which means aim high.
