There should be no politics over surgical strike; time to stand united: Arvind Kejriwal

5New Delhi: Facing flak over his demand for proof of the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army inside PoK, Delhi Chief Minister changed tune on Friday to say that there should be no politics over the military operation.
Slamming Rahul Gandhi for his ‘khoon ki dalali’ comment, Kejriwal said , “I strongly condemn what Rahul Gandhi said about our jawans, this is a matter in which we all need to stand united.”
“We have to remove our differences and stand with the army and the entire nation should stand with the Prime Minister, there should be no politics,” he added.
Kejriwal, who had “saluted” Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the surgical strikes, triggered a huge controversy on Oct 3 by asking the Centre to make evidence of the strikes public to counter Pakistan’s anti-India campaign.
“Two days back, the United Nations gave a statement that there was no such activity on the border,” he said.
“My blood boiled over these news reports (of the international media). Pakistan is indulging in smearing India’s image at the international level.”
The UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) “has not directly observed” any firing along the LoC, UN chief Ban Ki-moon’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric had said on September 30 against the backdrop of the surgical strikes conducted by India.
“I appeal to the Prime Minister that the way he and the Army taught Pakistan a lesson on ground, he should also unmask the propaganda by Pakistan at international level. The whole country is with you. I also appeal to the countrymen not to believe in the false campaign by Pakistan,” he had said.
His comments made him an instant celebrity in Pakistan with #PakStandsWithKejriwal become the No. 1 Twitter trend in the Islamic country.
