One dead after multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401

Collision between multiple motorcycles and one tractor trailer around 3 a.m. on Highway 401, east of Keele St.
A motorcyclist is dead and another is in serious condition after a multi-vehicle crash involving motorcycles and a transport truck on Highway 401 early Saturday morning, Sgt. Kerry Schmidt confirmed.
At about 3:30 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police arrived at the scene on the highway just east of Keele St.
It is unclear how many vehicles were in the crash. According to initial reports, three motorcycles and one tractor-trailer were involved.
The Highway 401 eastbound express lanes are closed just after Highway 400 at basket weave to Avenue Rd.
Investigators are working to reopen lanes by 3 p.m.
