Dr Aisha Rauf on UofA Senate

Edmonton(ATB): “I am honoured to get on UofA Senate” expressed Aisha while
sharing this news with media and community members.
Aisha is highly engaged and passionate community leader with over 15 years of
volunteering in the community with non-profits, political organizations, and
governance boards.
She is a Licenced Immigration Consultant and has opened her own Immigration
firm named as Ash Immigration Services.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in English Linguistics and a teacher’s diploma in
TESL.
Experienced Provincial Board Director and skilled in English as a Second Language
(ESL), Public Speaking, Social activism, Leadership, and Artistic Expression.
Her topics of interest are the myth of Intertextualism, gender difference through
language as seen and portrayed by modern media and the theory of metaphysics
in Rumi’s poetry.
Role of UofA Senator is to speak positively about the University of Alberta at
community events on their campuses as well as across the city and province,
lead or contribute to nominations for University awards, attend convocation
ceremonies and celebrations of student, faculty, staff and alumni achievement.
Also, assist in connecting University of Alberta people, programs and initiatives
with community representatives and resources, engage peers in the community
and on Senate in a range of University of Alberta programs and activities and
share insights from University of Alberta experiences with other community
leaders.
Aisha is proud wife of Mr Rauf Ramooz, Project Manager with Department of
Infrastructure, Government of Alberta and proud mother of three daughters.
