Delhi Reports 6,028 Fresh Covid Cases, Mumbai Daily Caseload Dips To 1,815

New Delhi: Witnessing yet another marginal drop in daily Covid-19 caseload, Mumbai on Tuesday reported 1,815 new infections, after reporting 1,857 on Monday. However, the national capital witnessed a slight spark in the covid-19 cases, with 6,028 new infections logged on Tuesday in comparison to 5,760 on Monday.

Delhi Covid-19 Tally

As per the data released by the health department, Delhi recorded 6,028 new Covid cases and 31 fatalities on Tuesday, while the positive rate fell to 10.55 per cent, PTI reported.

According to the health bulletin, 9,127 patients were discharged in a single day, and fewer than 15% of Covid beds in hospitals were filled.

On Monday, there were 5,760 new Covid cases in the city, with a positive rate of 11.79% and 30 fatalities.

After reaching a record high of 28,867 on January 13, the number of daily cases in Delhi has started dropping. 

On January 15, the capital had a positive rate of 30.6 per cent, the highest so far in the pandemic’s continuing wave.

On Sunday, Delhi reported 9,197 new Covid cases, with a positive rate of 13.32% and 34 fatalities as a result of the illness. It only took 10 days for the number of cases to fall below 10,000.

On Saturday, the capital registered 45 Covid-related fatalities, the most since June 5, and 11,486 cases with a positive rate of 16.36%.

On Friday, the city recorded 10,756 cases, with an 18.04 per cent positive rate and 38 fatalities.

Mumbai Covid-19 Tally

According to the data released by the public health department, Mumbai reported  1,815 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours,  taking the tally of infections to 9,97,042. The total recovery rate of Mumbai remains at 96%.

According to the health bulletin released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 753 patients were discharged in a single day. 

On Monday, the financial capital recorded 1,857 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally of infections to 10,36,690.

A total of 503 patients were discharged in the financial capital on Sunday, taking the number of recoveries to 9,96,289.
