Native Village/Country & Parents’ Background:
I hail from Jakhal Mandi, District Fatehabad, Haryana, India.
My father, Late Shri Lahori Ram, served and retired as Patwari (A village Registrar/Accountant), and my mother, Smt. Inder Devi, was a homemaker.
Your Early Education:
I have varied academic background. I did Masters in English and Hindi, Bachelor in Education, Prabhakar (Hindi & Sanskrit Studies), Masters Diploma in Yoga and Diploma in Acupressure.
Career Advancement, Volunteer Work & Present Occupation
I retired as a Principal, after devoting a significant part of my life to the field of Education.
Even after retirement, I have remained active in social service through various platforms such as the Inder Foundation, Bharat Vikas Parishad, and the Lions Club. I continue to contribute to society by conducting Yoga and Meditation camps aimed at holistic well-being and character-building.
Your Regret in Life:
The biggest regret of my life is that I could not bring about the Political and Social reforms I deeply aspired for. Despite consistent efforts through community service, awareness drives, and various organizations, I feel I was unable to influence the system and people’s mindset to the extent I had wished.
Your Best Achievements:
For any teacher, the best achievement is his successful pupils. I have tried my best that my students should rise and shine. My efforts were duly appreciated by way of Rajiv Gandhi Award in Education and State Award for Contributions to Scout and Guide Movement.
These recognitions are close to my heart, as they reflect my dedication to Education and Youth Development.
Comments on Modern Culture:
We must learn to adjust and live in harmony with the changing trends of society, family, and the country.
However, it’s disheartening to observe that modern culture is deteriorating.
The concept of joint families is fading, and social services have become mere formalities — more about weekend parties than meaningful engagement.
There is a growing disconnect among neighbors and communities. We must revive the spirit of unity, rebuild strong family ties, and foster social responsibility to restore balance in our lives and society.
What Brought You Success?
My dedication, discipline, and hard work have been the key pillars of my success. I have always believed in sincere effort and selfless service.
Are You Willing to Help Upcoming Professionals?
Yes, certainly. I am committed to supporting upcoming professionals by organizing Meditation and Yoga camps, where they can learn to harmonize their personal and professional lives. I believe a life of balance, commitment, and mindfulness leads to lasting success and peace.
I urge the Youth to dedicate themselves not only to their careers but also to their families and society if they wish to lead a truly fulfilling life.
Your Message for Canadians of Asian Origin:
Our birthplace (Janam Bhumi) gives us roots, and Canada is our Karma Bhumi — our land of action and growth. While we must always cherish our cultural and ancestral heritage, we must also wholeheartedly dedicate ourselves to our Karma Bhumi with sincerity and gratitude.
Let us honor the opportunities this country provides by giving back with our talent, integrity, and service. Strong roots from Janam Bhumi and a committed life in Karma Bhumi are the dual foundations of meaningful success.
