Prof Dr Parvinder Singh

Native Village/Country/Parents’ Background:
I come from Guru Ram Das Ji Nagar, Amritsar, Punjab, India, a region celebrated for its cultural depth, resilience, and spirit of service. I was raised in a family that placed a high value on education, integrity, and hard work. My father, S. Attar Singh, the younger brother of the revered Sant Baba Kundan Singh Ji of Nanaksar, served in the Indian Army and contributed during the conflicts with China and Pakistan. My mother, Inderbir Kaur, a deeply spiritual and compassionate woman, instilled in me the values of honesty, discipline, empathy, and service to the community—principles that continue to shape my personal and professional life.
Your Early Education:
I received my early education in Amritsar, Punjab, and was fortunate to earn government scholarships during my studies. I learned under inspiring teachers who encouraged my curiosity, discipline, and leadership potential. My formative years were marked by a strong commitment to academics, social service, and lifelong learning. These experiences built the foundation for my dedication to education and nation-building. I completed my Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, and later PhD from the world-renowned Panjab University, Chandigarh, earning distinctions and government scholarships throughout my academic journey.
Your Career Advancement Initiatives, Volunteer Work and Present Occupation:
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to strengthening higher education through academic leadership, policy advocacy, and institution building. I have championed educational reforms, supported faculty development, and advanced initiatives that promote skills, employability, innovation, and industry-academia collaboration. As a mentor and volunteer, I have guided students and young professionals in pursuing academic excellence, ethical leadership, and purposeful careers. At present, I serve in advisory and leadership capacities, contributing to the advancement of higher education and the development of human capital.
Your Regret in Life:
My greatest regret is that I have not been able to extend educational opportunities to every deserving student who faces social and economic barriers. This realization continues to motivate me to work with greater urgency toward a more inclusive and equitable education system.
Pick Any One of the Best Achievements:
One of my most meaningful achievements has been contributing to the transformation of higher education by creating and supporting platforms that encourage innovation, interdisciplinary learning, skill development, and collaboration among academia, industry, and society. In recognition of my contributions to higher education, I was honoured by the State Government on Independence Day 2024.
Any Comments on Modern Culture:
Modern culture has created unprecedented opportunities through technology, globalization, and connectivity.
However, true progress must be guided by ethical values, cultural rootedness, social responsibility, and respect for humanity.
Preserving our traditions while embracing innovation is essential for sustainable development.

What Brought You Success?
My success is the result of perseverance, continuous learning, disciplined hard work, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education. Equally important have been the guidance of mentors, the support of colleagues and family, and a steadfast commitment to serving society through knowledge and leadership.
Are You Willing to Help Upcoming Professionals and How?
Absolutely. I strongly believe in nurturing future leaders by mentoring young professionals, sharing practical experience and knowledge, facilitating meaningful networking opportunities, and guiding them in building leadership competencies, ethical values, and lifelong learning habits.
