Police offer reward in random killing of woman outside Toronto nightclub in 2014

1Jelena Loncar was killed outside the C Lounge nightclub two years ago on Aug. 26. Police do not believe she was the intended shooting target.
Toronto police have announced a $50,000 award for information regarding the killing of an innocent bystander outside a nightclub in 2014.
On Friday, the second anniversary of Jelena Loncar’s violent death, homicide Det. Andy Singh recapped the gunfire and warned the perpetrators, “We will not stop until you are identified and arrested.”
Loncar’s sister Lana said a few emotional words to the media.
“(Jelena’s life was) taken away by someone that was brave enough to pull a trigger but hides like a coward,” she said.
“Anyone that might know anything at all please come forward . . . please don’t let my sister’s life and the killer go unpunished, she deserves that.”
A server at nearby bar Hunters Landing, Loncar — a 31-year-old originally from Croatia who grew up in Niagara Falls — had finished her shift and headed toward C Lounge, where a friend was DJing.
She was in a crowd milling around outside of the latter bar at around 3:11 a.m. when, police say, several men arrived and tried to rob two other men of their gold chains. One of the victims resisted and one robber took out a pistol and fired repeatedly at him as he fled on foot down Wellington St.
The fleeing man — identified by Halifax media as Tremaine Nigel Fraser, 25 — was struck repeatedly but survived; Loncar was hit by a single bullet to the chest and died.
Singh said Friday that the robbers knew the male victim and targeted him, but that Loncar knew none of them. Surveillance footage released by police in 2014 shows three cars believed to be involved in the shooting.
Police released a composite sketch Friday of a man whom witnesses saw in one of the cars. The person of interest is described as a black man, 18 to 25 years of age, 5-feet-10 to six feet tall, with a thin build, gold grills on his teeth, and short black hair, possibly in cornrows.
The suspects, police said, had driven to the area directly from an exchange of gunfire in Etobicoke less than half an hour before, in parking lot at 689 The Queensway. The three vehicles seen fleeing the parking lot are described as:
A white Chrysler 300, 2011-2012 base model, with standard rims, a small black roof-antenna knob but no sunroof or front licence plate or front-plate holder.
A dark four-door vehicle with standard rims, small spoiler lip on the trunk, both front and rear plates and no sunroof.
A dark four-door vehicle, tinted side, front and rear windows, no sunroof, standard rims and both front and rear plates.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
