Motorcyclist killed in highway crash north of Calgary

1A 32-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle hit a truck that was hauling a trailer on a highway northeast of the city on Saturday night.
Police were called to Highway 564 near Range Road 285 at about 11:45 p.m. for reports of a collision.
A BMW HP4 motorcycle was travelling westbound on Highway 564 when it crashed into the side of a Dodge Ram truck, that was pulling a flat-deck trailer, as it turned east onto the highway.
EMS tried to resuscitate the motorcyclist but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
“The lone rider of the motorcycle was injured severely and pronounced dead on scene,” said RCMP Corporal Greg Tulloch. “The indication to this point is that speed and probably alcohol appear to be a factor and the only other thing that I can say about that is we’re not pursuing any charges against anybody involved in the collision.”
Two people in the truck sustained minor injuries and were treated and released.
“Minor injuries to the occupants of the truck and they were released on scene,” said Tulloch.
The victim has been identified by family as Will Preston and his wife Ashley told CTV News that he was loved by all who knew him and that he had a passion for life and motorcycles.
Preston’s family says they will wait for the results of the autopsy to determine if alcohol was involved in the crash.
