Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow will conclude at Davanagere via Honnali.
SHIMOGA: Congress president Rahul Gandhi is expected to arrive in Shimoga on Tuesday as part of his party’s ongoing campaign for the poll-bound Karnataka which will go to polls next month. According to reports, the Gandhi scion will arrive in the city around 11.30 and hold a roadshow here. Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow will conclude at Davanagere via Honnali.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the city comes days after BJP president Amit Shah held a grand roadshow here.
Congress campaign committee chief DK Shiva Kumar had earlier hinted that Rahul Gandhi would return to Karnataka for four days over two trips on April 3-4 and April 7-8, focusing on the Bangalore region.
He would start from Shimoga, the stronghold of BJP’s chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa, and will then travel to Chitradurga.
During his visit, Rahul Gandhi will be addressing a public rally at Government High School Ground in Davangere at 5.30 pm and later attend a public contact programme in Shimoga.
He will also inaugurate a District Congress office. The Congress chief will later travel to Honnali, Harihara and Bathi in Davangere.
The Congress president would also go to Bangalore this week and hold a major rally.
With Congress determined to retain power in the southern state, Rahul Gandhi has been campaigning in the state very extensively.
During his previous campaign across the state, Rahul has heaped praise on the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government here and attacked BJP on a wide range of issues including GST, note ban, Indian’s killing in Iraq, CBSE papers leak and PNB scam etc.

– 12:15 hrs: Jan Sampark at Bus Stand Chowk and Corner Meeting at Gopi Circle, Shimoga
– 13:15 hrs: Inauguration of New DCC office at Shimoga
– 15:15 hrs: Reception at Honnali, District Davangere
– 16:30 hrs: Reception at Harihara, District Davangere
-17:00 hrs: Reception at Bathi, District Davangere
-17:30 hrs: Public Meeting at Govt. High School Ground, District Davangere
