Demonetisation: No VIPs here, even PM Modi’s mother queues up to exchange notes in Gandhinagar

3Ahmedabad: On a day when the Opposition is trying to corner the Prime Minister over the winding queues outside banks and ATMs, Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben also queued up at a bank in Gandhinagar to exchange old currency.
Helped by relatives, Heeraba walked into a branch with 9 notes of Rs 500 to exchange them for Rs 4500 in new notes.
After clearing the formalities, she was handed two Rs 2000 notes and five notes of Rs 100.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday appealed to the country to support him for 50 days and patiently cooperate in the demonetisation drive.
