Maha Shivratri, is an important festival in the Indian world. It takes place once a year, around February-March in the Gregorian calendar, during the month of Magha or Phalguna in India. It is a night of fasting and meditation, conducive to the immersion of a lingam (symbol of Shiva) and offerings of all kinds (flowers, incense, etc.). Tradition says that this festival commemorates the marriage of Shiva and Parvati.
“It is Shiva’s blessings that such an announcement happened on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. We will build “Temple for all” within two years” stated Yash.
Hindu Society of Beaumont was incorporated on 6th May, 2022 and the Society has organized 22 socio-religious events so far.
More than 300 attended the event and donated generously.
Being on the outskirts of Beaumont, the temple once built will be accessible to Leduc, Beaumont, Sherwood Park, Laurel, Silverberry, Maples, Aster, Millwoods, Walker Lake, Summerside and Orchards residents.
