Asian Star- Nidhi Sharma

Native Village/Country parent’s background

I hail from Una, Himachal Pradesh, India. My both parents are the tutors of Maths/Physics and prepare students for the competitive exams.

Your early education

I did my schooling from Chandigarh. It was a fulfilling experience. My teachers were supportive and encouraging.

Your career advancement initiatives, volunteer work and present occupation

I completed my graduation from PEC and I have been employed in the field of Supply Chain Management. My college life taught me a lot about time management and work delegation. My brush with management as my role of Secretary for the Art and Photography Club for my college was enriching.

I also did freelancing in content creation and editorials during my college time. That helped me know beyond what my course has to offer. The experience really helped me with client dealing and meeting deadlines.

The transition from High school to College is not an easy one and it is your experiences that make or break you.

Currently I work at Accenture Strategy, making optimised supply chain scalable.

Your regret in Life

I believe that when we learn from our mistakes, they become lessons. I do not have any regrets.

Pick any one of the best achievements

Every achievement has a different flavour and it is all of them together that make me the person who I am today.

Still if I have to pick one, I would like to mention the time when I scored the highest in Equanimity Olympiad in my city.

Any comments on modern culture

Culture is like a river, it is meant to move, shake and change. It is us the people who shape up our culture. Rigidity in any sphere is never the answer as change is the only constant. If you strive to be better, you will have the best of everything around you!

What brought you success?

I believe my constant urge to be better than myself has always helped me lots. Perseverance and grit should be given the due credit to uphold me in tough times.

Are you willing to help upcoming professionals and how?

I would love to get in touch with upcoming professionals and help them.

The job markets are tough at the moment. I could surely assist with job hunt, tips to crack the interviews from my own experience.

Your message for Canadians of Asian Origin

World has become very competitive and survival of the fittest is the mantra. Combo of hard as well as soft skills enable us to achieve our personal and professional goals.

Always strive to be better: morally, ethically and upskill.

Your efforts are the only thing that would pay off.
