Native Village/Country:
I hail from Moga, Punjab, India.
Your Early Education:
I did my Bachelor’s in Agriculture and subsequently completed my Masters in Plant Breeding & Genetics from PAU Ludhiana. After that I completed my Masters in Business Administration from Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, India.
When & Why You came to Canada:
I moved to Canada in 2022 with a desire to explore new opportunities, improve my quality of life, and challenge myself beyond my comfort zone. I always believed that stepping into a new environment would open doors to growth, learning, and transformation – and that belief has proven true in my case.
Your career advancement initiatives, volunteer work and present occupation:
My professional foundation was built in the Agricultural Sector, where I invested nearly 17 years, including studies and industry work. After moving to Canada, I entered the completely different sector and pursued licensing in the insurance and investment field. I wanted to build something of my own rather than follow the traditional 9-to-5 path.
I became licensed in 2022 and began helping families plan and protect their financial futures as an independent advisor. To ensure I deliver the highest level of guidance, I continued expanding my knowledge by completing additional industry certifications, including like IFIC – Investment Funds in Canada, CHS – Certified Health Specialist and currently pursuing CFP – Certified Financial Planner, the Premier Professional designation in Financial Planning.
My goal has always been to serve clients with professionalism, integrity, and a deep understanding of financial well-being.
Your Regret in Life:
I wouldn’t say I live with regrets, but if anything, I wish I had taken the step of entrepreneurship earlier in life. However, every experience brought me to where I am today, and I am grateful for the journey.
Pick Any One of Your Best Achievements:
One of my proudest achievements is establishing myself as a trusted Financial Professional in a new Country within a short span of time. Helping families build strong Financial Foundations and being recognized for ethical and client-focused service means a lot to me.
Did you face discrimination?
No, I am grateful that I have never faced discrimination.
Are You Happy in Canada?
Happiness is a mindset, and I believe in appreciating the present moment. I am content with what I’ve been able to achieve and deeply thankful to God for this.
Your take on Canada’s Culture:
Canada has a unique and beautiful culture. Every culture contributes something valuable, and I have embraced many positive aspects of Canadian life: patience, kindness, and respectful communication. Learning and adapting has been a rewarding experience.
What about Canada’s Weather:
I truly enjoy the beautiful seasons and nature here: something I couldn’t experience the same way back home. Summers are wonderful, and while Winters can be challenging, I see them as part of the natural charm of this Country.
What Brought You Success in Canada?
In one line: ethics, honesty, and transparency in business. Staying committed to genuine client service has been the foundation of my growth.
Are You Willing to Help New Immigrants and How?
Absolutely. I know how overwhelming the early stage of settling can be, and I always try to support newcomers in any way I can whether through guidance, networking, advice, or mentorship.
Your Message for Canadians of Asian Origin:
I don’t feel I’m in a position to give advice to anyone, but in my personal view, life is too short to spend it doubting yourself or focusing on what’s not working. With the right mindset, steady effort, and determination, anyone can create a meaningful and successful life here. We are fortunate to live in a developed country with endless opportunities, and it’s up to us to make the most of them. Sometimes, a shift in mindset is all it takes to completely change the direction of our journey. SHIFT THE MINDSET & IT WILL CHANGE THE GAME.
