GOVT SHOULD HOLD HANDS OF ‘ANNADATA’ INSTEAD OF PLAYING ‘PAWN’ TO CORPORATE HOUSES: BHAGWANT MANN

SAYS AAP ROCK SOLID BEHIND THE FARMERS TILL CONTENTIOUS LAWS ARE REVERSED

Chandigarh-The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in solidarity with the call given by the farmers, would lay siege to district headquarters across Punjab on December 14 against the new agrarian laws introduced by the Modi government at the Centre, with intent to crush the farmers, traders, ‘arhtiyas’, laborers and others associated with farming in the state.

Announcing party’s whole-hearted support to the call given by the farmers, state unit President and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said in a statement issued from party headquarters on Friday that the BJP-led Modi government at the Centre is toeing a policy of repression against the people and is turning the world’s strongest democracy into dictatorship.

Mann said that the farmers, farm laborers, commision agents, traders and all other sections of people of the country have been forced to take to streets against the contentious Central agriculture laws pushed by the Modi government to give free run to its favourite corporate houses. He added  that the centre was, instead of acceding to the just demands of the farmers, adopting repressive measures to crush their farmers agitation.

The Sangrur MP said that the Modi government was, instead of holding hands of the people of the country, especially the beleaguered farmers, is dancing to the tunes of its patron corporate honchos. Mann reminded that the government went on to impose three draconian farm laws on the farmers by brute force, which the AAP will never allow to pass on in our democracy.

Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party had been opposing the black laws since the day the ordinances were issued and would stand shoulder to shoulder with the farmers till these were revoked.

The AAP MP said that the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi had fielded its Ministers, MLAs and volunteers to help out the farmers protesting on the Delhi borders in every possible way. The team was serving the farmers as their true ‘sevadars’, day and night at the ‘dharna’ sites.

The state president said that the Aam Aadmi Party vehemently opposed the repressive policies of the central government. The leader said that the AAP would continue to support the agitating farmers who were fighting for their existence and livelihood. Mann said the Aam Aadmi Party is fully in support of the farmers’ cause and would besiege the district headquarters along with farmers in protests against the dictatorial dispensation.
