West Bengal bypoll results Trinamool wins Noapara, leads in Uluberia Lok Sabha seat

The bypolls will witness a contest between Trinamool Congress and BJP in both the seats, with Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).
The counting of votes for Uluberia Lok Sabha and Noapara Assembly seats in West Bengal began at 8 am on Thursday morning. A total of 13 candidates are in the fray for these two seats.
The bye-elections in West Bengal are widely being viewed as a crucial test for the Trinamool Congress and opposition parties ahead of the 2018 panchayat polls. The bypolls were necessitated by the death of Sultan Ahmed, the sitting TMC MP from Uluberia, and of Madhusudan Ghose, Congress MLA from the Noapara Assembly seat.

Uluberia bypoll: Trinamool currently leading by 1,22,997 votes

After 8 round, TrinamoolSunil Singh is leading with 35,600 votes, CPI(M) Gargi Chatterjee is in the second position, BJP’s Sandip Banerjee third, reports News18.com
Over 75.3 percent in the Noapara Assembly seat voted in bypolls.

After the eighth round, Trinamool’s Sunil Singh is leading with 35,600 votes, Gargi Chatterjee of CPI(M) is on second position, BJP’s Sandip Banerjee on third
Naopara bypoll: After seven rounds of counting, TMC’s Sunil Singh gets 51694 votes, CPIM’s Gargi Chatterjee gets 19067 votes, BJP’s Sandip Banerjee gets 17688 votes and Congress’s Goutam Bose gets 6138.
At least 1866 voters choose NOTA option.
