United Aid paid tributes to Deep Sidhu

Edmonton(ATB): United Aid Foundation, Edmonton organised hot food
distribution to homeless and candlelight vigil as a tribute to (Late) Deep Sidhu,
Youth leader.

All participants braved the frigid temperature to demonstrate their solidarity.
Ranjit Sidhu and Labha Dhanoa, the flag bearers of United Aid are very much
devoted to the humans’ concerns and address them on a regular basis.
Indian actor and activist Deep Sidhu, who backed the country’s year-long
farmer’s movement, died in a car crash. He was 37.
Born in Punjab state, Sidhu started his career as a model before landing a role in
the film Ramta Jogi in 2015.

He was a vocal supporter of India’s farmer’s movement, which saw tens of
thousands of farmers’ camp for months on the outskirts of the capital Delhi.
They were protesting against three laws implemented by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi’s Government that they said could ruin their livelihood.
In a rare retreat, Modi repealed the laws in November last year.
Sidhu’s role in the farmer’s movement was thrust into the spotlight after he was
accused of instigating violence during a Republic Day rally on January 26, 2021.
Sidhu was arrested in February last year on suspicion of inciting protesters
during the rally. He was granted bail after spending about 70 days in police
custody.
Yash Sharma, Editor in Chief, Asian Tribune also addressed the attendees and
called upon United Aid office bearers to write to Indian authorities to initiate
CBI enquiry into crash incident.

“We are shattered with the untimely death of Deep. However, whole
community is together in this hour of grief and will keep on following into his
foot steps” expressed Ranjit Sidhu, President of United Aid Foundation.
