New Delhi: A new budget OnePlus Nord is likely to be unveiled in India soon and the device may feature a 50MP camera and 5G support, the media has reported. While the brand has already launched devices under the Nord lineup, this would be the first time that a Nord smartphone gets launched under Rs 20,000 even as this price segment is the most popular in India. 

According to a leak by tipster Yogesh Brar a sub-Rs 20,000 Nord device would see the light of the day and the company is likely to decide by the middle of the third quarter of this year, says a report published in 91Mobiles. The budget OnePlus Nord would be unveiled after the launch of the Nord 3 in the country, the report added. The “truly affordable” Nord would be unveiled in India at least by July, and it is likely to be the third device in the Nord lineup to be launched this year. According to reports, the Nord 2 CE is likely to be unveiled in either February or March.

Expected specs and features of the upcoming affordable OnePlus Nord include a 90Hz AMOLED screen and a 50MP primary camera along with and 5G support, the report mentioned. The Nord would likely be powered by a MediaTek processor. However, further details of the device are not known at the moment. Currently, OnePlus offers OnePlus Nord 2 5G and OnePlus Nord CE 5G smartphones in the Nord lineup.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G arrived with a 6.43-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The top left corner of the phone had a cut-out for the 32MP front camera. There was a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP, 119-degree ultrawide camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. The handset is priced in India at Rs 27,999 for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
