Meerut: A school in Meerut affiliated to the CBSE Board has issued bizarre orders asking its students to sport hair like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
A report in the Times of India said on Friday that nearly 2,800 students, from Class I to XII, are currently enrolled in this school and its management wants all of them to get hairstyles on the line of CM Yogi Adityanath.
Its management has also banned beards, claiming that the school was “not a madrassa where people offer namaz”.
Besides, the school management has also ordered a blanket prohibition on non-vegetarian food and forced gender segregation to “prevent love jihad”.
The matter came to light when some students were denied entry to Rishabh Academy Co-Educational English Medium School since they did not have proper haircuts.
Justifying the order, Ranjeet Jain, secretary, management committee, clarified that since the school was run by a Jain trust, non-vegetarian food, including eggs, is prohibited in tiffin brought by students.
The school also conducts surprise checks to see whether a student is flouting food rules.
As if this is not enough, the school has also enforced gender segregation, making boys and girls study in separate classrooms to prevent ‘love jihad’.
