Man fatally struck by falling tree limb in Trinity Bellwoods Park

5A man has died after being struck by a falling tree branch in Trinity Bellwoods Park, Toronto police have confirmed.
It happened in the park located in the Queen Street West and Strachan Avenue area a short time ago.
“We had multiple witnesses that we took statements from who confirmed that he was sitting under the tree with his wife,” Toronto police Sgt. Scott Villers told CP24 at the scene.
“There was no misadventure here that resulted in his death. Thais was just what appears to be a freak accident.”
The man is believed to be in his 30s. His wife is currently in hospital receiving treatment for shock, police said.
Officers continue to investigate at the scene.
