Kenney Ignore Punjabis

(Punjab): It is to utter surprise of Punjabis who call Alberta as their home that Jason Kenney, Alberta Opposition Leader did not bother to take along any of his Punjabi supporters and financiers who have spent tons of money on his campaign and membership recruitment while visiting Holy shrine of Sikhs, Golden Temple at Amritsar, Punjab and other parts of India during his recent visit.
His past comment on one of the Federal Minister that “we need translator from English to English” still resonate throughout Punjabi community.
The two accompanists were Prasad Panda, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Calgary-Foothills, having origin at Sangam Jagarlamudi, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India and Devin Dreeshen currently serving as Member of the Legislative Assembly for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake.
“The current government, for some reason, has gone three and a half years without ever having had the premier or minister of trade visit the world’s fastest growing market,” Kenney said. “I find that peculiar.”
Last week, Bilous said there was confusion in India over who Kenney was speaking for, noting that one Indian leader referred to Kenney by his old federal cabinet minister title.
Bilous says his office now has to do “damage control” with Indian officials to make sure the provincial position on trade issues is clear.
Notley dismissed Kenney’s trip calling him the “minister of make believe.”
“I’d be a little bit worried about the fact that he’s now got a record of going out and saying to people that he is something that he is not. . . I think that probably reflects a little bit on the kind of leadership that he demonstrates and people will have to judge on that,” Notley said.
“It’s certainly not an embarrassment to us. I think our minister of economic development will have more to say on additional work that might have created for him, but at the end of the day. . . I find it amusing that he apparently wants to suggest he’s a minister of our government and also is there to sell the policies of this government.”
Kenney said everyone he met with in India “received clear expression” of why he was there and information about his role as opposition leader in Alberta.
Before the trip, Kenney said he contacted Notley in writing about the meetings he would be having, and also spoke to Bilous by phone.
Albertans are confused looking into polarized provincial politics full of hatred.
