Girl, 13, dies in hospital after being struck by vehicle in Brampton

A 13-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton Thursday, Peel police have confirmed.
The incident happened at around 5 p.m. at Centre Street North and Prouse Drive.
Police said it was an off-duty officer on their way to work who hit the girl. She was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In an update provided Friday afternoon, police said the girl died in hospital earlier today. Her name has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been laid.
