Dr Judi L Malone is seeking the nomination for the Alberta NDP in the

Edmonton-Ellerslie Constituency

Dr Judi L Malone, psychologist and CEO, announced her intention to seek the
nomination for the Alberta NDP in the Edmonton-Ellerslie Constituency.
Malone is the second official candidate in a contested nomination race.
“I believe in the potential for positive change. We benefit from living in a
democracy, and nothing speaks to democracy like voice, choice, and becoming
involved”, said Malone. “I encourage everyone to get your Alberta NDP
membership, assess the candidates, and vote”.
Dr Judi Malone has dedicated her professional life to improving the psychological
health of Albertans and fighting health disparities.
As a practicing clinical psychologist for over two decades, Malone understands both
the strengths and needs of Alberta families.
Currently Malone is the CEO of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.
Recognized as a pivotal leader, Malone is an impassioned advocate for timely
access to professional mental health services regardless of income.
“Growing up on a rural farm, with a parent working in Fort McMurray, friends, and
family in Cree communities, and later as a single parent working my way through
school, I have long been aware of the inequities and struggles of Albertans working to
give their children a better life. That spurred my passion for human rights and politics”,
said Judi Malone. “My personal journey has taught me that support for ALL
Albertans to live their best lives is attainable. I want to use my energy and
knowledge to energize and strengthen our province with good jobs, good schools,
and strong public healthcare that includes our mental health.”
Dr Malone is also a lifelong volunteer who has spent her career working within and
for her communities. She is keenly aware of the importance and power of community
strength.
“Edmonton Ellerslie is our home. My husband, Roberto, is an engineer who
received his citizenship 8 years ago. My daughter Kira is a university student. We
are proud to be in a diverse and growing community of neighbourhoods filled with
community energy,” said Judi Malone. “I am committed to being the voice of
change for Edmonton-Ellerslie”.

Dr. Malone has a proven track record of influencing positive decisions that matter to
Albertans. Although the date has not yet been announced, this promises to be a
hotly contested NDP nomination election with up to 5 expected to run.
