At least 8 dead, several injured in explosion at Badaun firecracker factory

At least eight persons died while several others got injured in an explosion at a firecracker factory on Tuesday. The explosion occured at a firecracker factory in Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occured at a firecracker factory in Rasulpur village in Civil Lines police station area of Badaun. The injured were immediately rushed to the district hospital.
Police and district administration officials rushed to the spot soon after the incident took place and began the relief and rescue operations. The explosion reportedly occured at 4 pm on Friday.
The actual cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained. Authorities, however, confirmed that the factory had valid license.
