4.2 magnitude earthquake hits Bhachau in Gujarat

The tremors were felt at around 4 am on Thursday.
An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred in Bhachau in Kutch district of Gujarat on Thursday. The tremors were felt at around 4 am on Thursday. As per United States government sites USGS, the epicentre of the earthquake was 8km east-southeast of Bhachau. There are no reports of any loss of life or damage to property due to the earthquake so far.
The meteorological department has characterised the earthquake of ‘slight’ intensity.
Earlier on 23 January this year, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake had hit Junagadh in Gujarat. The tremors were felt at around 6:32 PM in parts of Junagarh and its neighbouring districts. There were no casualties due to the earthquake.
Gujarat has witnessed several mild earthquake tremors last year.
