SSC paper leak protest: JLN Stadium metro station gate opens after 2 days

The Delhi Police had asked the DMRC to shut the gates after demonstrations against the alleged paper leak in one of the tests held by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on February 21.
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) opened one of the gates of the JLN Stadium station on Monday for the public after closing it for two days following a protest by job aspirants at the CGO Complex nearby.
The Delhi Police had asked the DMRC to shut the gates after demonstrations against the alleged paper leak in one of the tests held by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on February 21.
“The JLN Stadium station is now open for public, but entry and exit are allowed only from the main gate, i.e., Gate No. 4. Rest of the gates would remain shut till further directions,” a senior DMRC official said.
The gate was shut on Saturday around 9 am after receiving directions from the police. The station falls on the busy Violet Line that connects Kashmere Gate to Escorts Mujesar.
Students from across the country have been protesting outside the CGO Complex, where the SSC is headquartered, demanding a CBI inquiry into the allegations of questions being leaked from one of the papers of the Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II) Examination 2017 held from February 17 to 22. These are online tests to fill various subordinate posts like tax inspectors, clerical staff and accountants, in government departments.
Meanwhile, SSC chairman Ashim Khurana on Sunday said, “The commission agreed to recommend to the Department of Personnel and Training to request the government to conduct a CBI enquiry into the allegations of a leak of questions of Paper-I on February 21, and other related issues.”
Social activist Anna Hazare also met the protesters who have been camping outside the commission’s office for the past one week and supported their demand for a CBI probe. Delhi BJP chief and MP Manoj Tiwari, along with a delegation of candidates met Khurana, putting forth the demand for a CBI probe.
