4Bahraich: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a stinging reply to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh over his ‘donkey’ remark.
Addressing an election rally here, PM Modi said, “Akhilesh ji, I can understand if you attack Modi or BJP but you are now targeting a donkey? Are you afraid of a donkey?”
“I am amused at your casteist mindset that you are now seeing differences among animals too, and you now hate a donkey?” Modi said.
“A donkey also gives us inspiration as it remains always remains loyal to the master and shoulders,” he added.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Modi said, “You (Akhilesh) have joined hands with those who had issued a postal stamp on Gujarat’s donkeys in 2013.”
“Akhileshji, the place for are attributing to a donkey is the very place where Gandhi and Sardar Patel were born, and Krishna made it his ‘karmbhoomi’,” he added.
Akhilesh, earlier on Monday last, had made an apparent attack on Modi by making “donkey” remark while referring to an advertisement of Gujarat government in which megastar Amitabh Bachchan promotes tourism in the state.
Without taking any name, he had “advised” the “biggest Bollywood actor of the century” not to “campaign for the donkeys of Gujarat”.
