ISRO’s satellite century: Top facts from today’s record-launch of 104 satellites

3New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recorded history by launching 104 satellites into space in a single shot. Here are some of the key facts of this mission:
Out of the 104 satellites, only 3 are Indian and the rest 101 are of foreign origin.
The Indian Space agency used PSLV for the launch which has a main satellite weighing 714 kilogram while remaining 103 satellites are smallers which in combination weigh 664 kilograms.
Todays’ mega launch has set a new world record overtaking the previous one set by Russia in 2014 when it catapulted 37 satellites in a single launch.
The nano satellites in the rocket belong to United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, US, Israel and Kazakhstan.
In June 2015, ISRO had successfully launched 23 satellites in a single mission, setting a national record.
