Encounter underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama; 1 terrorist killed

An exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists in Awantipora area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning. At least one terrorist was gunned down by security forces.
The terrorist has been identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani the son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani. He was a resident of Qoil village of Pulwama. Wani was a terrorist of the Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.
The Banderpora area has been cordoned off and searches are underway to smoke out the terrorists. Mobile internet services have also been snapped in the area.
