My family is from south India, a province called Kerala. Specifically, from Kozhikode
which is a northern district of Kerala.

I attended higher secondary and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in mechanics.
When & Why You came to Canada:
I moved to Canada in 2007 for a job opportunity and in hopes to bring
my family here for overall better quality of life and better education for my daughter.
Your career advancement initiatives, volunteer work and present occupation
I currently work in the trucking and logistics industry. Since 2014, I have been on the
executive board of NAMAHA, a Malayalee Hindu Association. For the last 2 years, I
have been the President of the association.
Your Regret in Life
I do not have any regrets what so ever.

My best achievement is being able to live in such a diverse country like Canada
where I’m able to continue practising my religion as well as embrace the culture that
I was brought up in.
Were You Ever Discriminated?
Being an immigrant, I have experienced discrimination on many occasions,
particularly at the workplace. This includes comments on my accent and
appearance.
Are You Happy in Canada?
Overall, I lead a very happy life in Canada. I am able to provide for my family and
ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Any Comments on Canada’s Culture?
As mentioned earlier, Canada is a very accepting and diverse country where
everyone has the freedom to practise their religion, beliefs and life style.
Any Comments on Canada’s Weather?
Canada has beautiful summers, however, our winters are quite brutal. The
temperature can drop as low as -40℃ to -50℃.
What Brought You Success in Canada?
Hard work, determination, along with the support of my loved ones allowed me to
build a successful life in Canada.

Yes, I am willing to help new immigrants by addressing their issues as regards job search and immigration process.

My message to Canadians of Asian origin is to preserve your traditions by passing it
on to the next generation. Regardless of your ethnic background, always be willing to
help those in need. Be inclusive and staunchly believe in volunteerism and giving back to society.
