Apna Haryana celebrated Diwali & Haryana Day


Edmonton(ATB) The Apna Haryana Association of Alberta (AHAA) has
successfully hosted a vibrant celebration of Diwali and Haryana Day,
bringing the rich heritage and traditions of Haryana to the heart of Alberta.
Held on November 10 at the Pleasant View Community Center, the event
drew community members and dignitaries alike for an evening of cultural
performances, authentic cuisine, and shared festivities.


The event, which honored the spirit and culture of Haryana, marked a
significant milestone in uniting the Haryanvi and Indian community in
Alberta, bringing together families, friends, and well-wishers from across
the region. The evening was filled with lively folk performances, including
traditional Haryanvi music, dance, and drama which captivated the
audience and created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.


Attendees were also treated to a feast of traditional Haryanvi and Diwali-
inspired dishes, offering a taste of authentic flavors from India. The
celebration continued with a Diwali ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of
light over darkness and the fostering of hope, unity, and prosperity.
Key community leaders and special guests spoke on the occasion,
commending the Apna Haryana Association of Alberta (AHAA) for their
efforts in preserving and promoting Haryana’s cultural legacy in Canada.
“The Apna Haryana Association of Alberta extends its heartfelt thanks to all
participants, volunteers, and sponsors who contributed to the success of
the event” expressed Sharan Khurana, President and stated that the
Association remains committed to organizing events that celebrate
Haryana’s heritage, fostering connections among Haryanvis in Canada and
building a strong foundation for future generations.


The Apna Haryana Association of Alberta is a non-profit organization
dedicated to preserving and promoting the culture, heritage, and traditions
of Haryana within Alberta. Through events, cultural programs, and
community initiatives, the association seeks to foster unity among Haryanvi
immigrants and their descendants and to create bridges between the
Haryanvi and wider Canadian communities.
